After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take
another woman out
to
dinner and a movie. She said I love you but I know
this other woman
loves
you and would love to spend some time with you.

The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my
MOTHER, who has
been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work
and my three
children
had made it impossible to visit her, only
occasionally.

That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner
and a movie.

"What's wrong, are you well," she asked? My mother is
the type of woman
who suspects that a late night call or a surprise
invitation is a sign
of
bad news.

"I thought that it would be pleasant to spend some
time with you," I
responded. "Just the two of us."

She thought ! about it f or a moment, and then said,
"I would like that
very much."

That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up
I was a bit
nervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed that
she, too, seemed
to
be
nervous about our date. She waited in the door with
her coat on.
She had curled her hair and was wearing the dress that
she had worn to
celebrate her last wedding anniversary. She smiled
from a face that was
as
radiant as an angel's.

"I told my friends that I was going to go out with my
son, and they
were
impressed, "she said, as she got into the car. "They
can't wait to hear
about our meeting".

We went to a restaurant that, although not elegant,
was very nice and
cozy. My mother took my arm as if she were the First
Lady. After we sat
down, I had to read the menu. Her eyes could only read
large print.
Half way through the entries , I lifted my eyes and
saw Mom sitting
there
staring at me. A nostalgic smile was on her lips.

"It was I who used to have to read the menu when you
were small," she
said.

"Then it's time that you relax and let me return the
favor," I
responded.

During the dinner, we had an agreeable conversation -
nothing
extraordinary, but catching up on recent events of
each other's life.
We talked so much that we missed the movie.

As we arrived at her house later, she said, "I'll go
out with you again,
but only if you let me invite you." I agreed.

"How was your dinner date?" asked my wife when I got
home.

"Very nice. Much more so than I could have imagined,"
I answered.

A few days later, my mother died of a massive heart
attack. It happened so suddenly that I didn't have a
chance to do anything for her.

Some time later, I received an envelope with a copy of
a restaurant receipt from the same place mother and I
had dined.

An attached note said: "I paid this bill in advance. I
wasn't sure that I could be there; but evertheless, I
paid for two plate s - one for you and the other for
your wife. You will never know what that night meant
for
me.
I love you, son."

At that moment, I understood the importance of saying
in time: "I LOVE YOU!" and to give our loved ones the
time that theydeserve.
Nothing in life is more important than God and your
family.Give them the time they deserve, because these
things cannot be put off till "some other time."

Pass this along to everyone with an aging parent, to a
child, to an adult, to anyone with a parent. Here's
hoping today is better than yesterday and
tomorrow is even better!

One of the best things to hold onto in this world is a Friend.

Chinese Names - Annie Wan (Anyone)
Caller : Hello, can I speak to Annie Wan? (anyone)

Operator : Yes, you can speak to me.

Caller: No, I want to speak to Annie Wan!

Operator: You are talking to someone! Who is this?

Caller: I'm Sam Wan ( someone) And I need to talk to Annie Wan! It's urgent.

Operator: I know you are someone and you want to talk to anyone! But what's
this urgent matter about?

Caller: Well... just tell my sister Annie Wan that our brother Noel Wan ( no one ) was
involved in an accident. Noel Wan got injured and now Noel Wan is being
sent to the hospital. Right now, Avery Wan is on his way to the hospital.

Operator: Look if no one was injured and no one was sent to the hospital, then

the accident isn't an urgent matter! You may find this hilarious but I don't
have time for this!

Caller: You are so rude! Who are you?

Operator: I'm Saw Lee. (sorry)

Caller: Yes! You should be sorry. Now give me your name!!

Global Warming

Global warming... what is that??? Global warming refers to the increase in the average temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans in recent decades and its projected continuation. A phenomenon (otherwise known as ‘climate change’ or ‘the greenhouse effect’) whereby solar radiation that has reflected back off the surface of the earth remains trapped at atmospheric levels, due to the build-up of CO2 and other greenhouse gases, rather than being emitted back into space. The effect of this is a warming of the global atmosphere.

The 2001 report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change concluded that global average surface temperature had increased by 0.6 degrees Celsius during the twentieth century, largely due to greenhouse gas emissions. Carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere had increased by approximately 30 percent since the late nineteenth century, rising from 280 parts per million (ppm) by volume to 367 ppm in 1998. This are the causes for this problem:

Natural causes

Release of methane gas from arctic tundra and wetlands.

By orbital forcing-earth goes through a cycle of climate change

Man-made causes

1. Increase of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by

Deforestation for development purposes.

Burning fossils and fuels like gasolineoil, and coal

Industrialization

Transportation

2. Agriculture (farming)

Increase methane gas

Fertilizers that releases nitrous oxide

3. Increase in population

Increase in pollution

4. Greenhouse Effect

increase in greenhouse gases

wide usage of CFC-in aerosol cans, refrigerators, some foaming agents in the packaging industry, fire extinguisher chemicals and cleaners used in the electronic industry.

depletion of ozone layer

Here are some ways that you can do!!

  • Turn off lights, appliances and other items operated by electricity when they aren't in use. (Savings: 1000 pounds of carbon dioxide and $256 per year)
  • Unplug appliances and electric items when not in use - when an item is switched off, some current continues to be pulled by the cords. This is especially true of items that have the large AC adapter units incorporated on their cords. This wastes electricity creating more pollution and costing you more money.

  • Run your washer and dryer for full loads of laundry only - Use cold water whenever possible and consider allowing your clothes to air dry because it will keep them from shrinking too. (Savings: 700 pounds of carbon dioxide and $75 per year)

  • Carpool - To work, school, shopping mall. Share a ride with a friend or co-worker and keep unnecessary cars off the road, maybe traffic will improve as well. (Savings: 750 pounds of carbon dioxide
  • Whenever possible, use a fan instead of air conditioning.
  • Keep a car tuned up. When it is running properly, it emits fewer harmful gases.
  • Recycle. Un-recycled garbage ends up in a landfill, which produces methane. In addition, recycled goods require less energy to produce than products made from scratch.

  • Plant trees and other plant life whenever possible. Plants take carbon dioxide out of the air and release oxygen.
  • Don't burn garbage. This releases carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons into the atmosphere.
  • The most effective way to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases is to develop non-fossil fuel energy sources. Hydro-electric power, solar power, hydrogen engines and fuel cells are all ways to cut down emissions

LIFE

I'm not craving for love..
It is care that i'm searching for..
I'm lost in a world of my own..
Where I live to what i do..
My imagination is blurring my mind..
Out of this world i would like to go..
My destiny is not in my hand..
My fate no one knows..
To live this live to the fullest..
Something has to be achieved on my own..

Information and Communications Technology - or technologies (ICT) is an umbrella term that includes all technologies for the manipulation and communication of information. The term is sometimes used in preference to Information Technology (IT), particularly in two communities: education and government.
Although,in the common usage it is often assumed that ICT is synonymous with IT; ICT in fact encompasses any medium to record information (magnetic disk/tape, optical disks (CD/DVD), flash memory etc. and arguably also paper records); technology for broadcasting information - radio, television; and technology for communicating through voice and sound or images - microphone, camera, loudspeaker, telephone to cellular phones. It includes the wide variety of computing hardware (PCs, servers, mainframes, networked storage), the rapidly developing personal hardware market comprising mobile phones, personal devices, MP3 players, and much more; the full gamut of application software from the smallest home-developed spreadsheet to the largest enterprise packages and online software services; and the hardware and software needed to operate networks for transmission of information, again ranging from a home network to the largest global private networks operated by major commercial enterprises and, of course, the Internet. Thus, "ICT" makes more explicit that technologies such as broadcasting and wireless mobile telecommunications are included.
It should be noted that "ICT" by this English definition is different in nuance and scope than under "ICT" in Japanese, which is more technical and narrow in scope.
ICT capabilities vary widely from the sophistication of major western economies to lesser provision in the developing world. But the latter are catching up fast, often leapfrogging older generations of technology and developing new solutions that match their specific needs.
